What Even Is ReNEET 2026?
If you're a little fuzzy on the background of why this re-exam even happened, here's a quick recap.
The original NEET UG 2026 exam was scheduled for 3 May 2026. That exam was cancelled by NTA (National Testing Agency), making it completely invalid for admissions. NTA then organised a fresh examination on 21 June 2026, and this is now the only official, valid NEET 2026, the one that counts for everything.
The cancellation caused a lot of uncertainty and stress for lakhs of medical aspirants across the country. Holding a re-exam was NTA's way of ensuring a fair and uniform admission process for all eligible candidates. So, from here on out , for any official reason, all documents, answer keys, scorecards, and results tied to the 21 June exam are the ones you should rely on. The May exam will not be considered anywhere in the admission process.
Why Was It Cancelled?
NTA had cancelled the 3 May 2026 NEET UG examination to protect the integrity of the admission process and ensure that all candidates get a fair shot under equal conditions since it was probed that the question paper was leaked. A completely fresh examination cycle was organised as a result, making the 21 June 2026 re-exam the clean slate that the entire 2026 medical admission cycle is built on.
So What Is This Exam Actually For?
The ReNEET 2026 score is what will be used for admissions to the following courses across government and private colleges in India:

BDS
AYUSH courses
BSc Nursing
Other undergraduate medical and paramedical programmes
Verdict: The June paper was slightly more tough overall, mostly because of Physics.
