    How MBBS Admission Works in Delhi

    Government medical colleges in Delhi fall into distinct affiliation groups, each with its own counselling structure:

    • AIIMS New Delhi is a Statutory Autonomous Institute — 100% of its MBBS seats are filled directly through MCC central counselling, with no separate Delhi quota
    • Colleges affiliated with Delhi University (DU) — such as MAMC, LHMC, and UCMS — fill 15% seats via MCC's All India Quota (AIQ) and 85% via Delhi state quota
    • Colleges affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) — such as VMMC and ABVIMS-RML — follow a similar 15% AIQ / 85% state quota split, counselled through GGSIPU's own portal

    Delhi state quota seats require candidates to hold a valid Delhi domicile certificate (typically 3+ years of residency), and the process is overseen by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Delhi for DU-affiliated colleges.

    A Note on Special Reservation Colleges

    Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) reserves 100% of its MBBS seats exclusively for wards of serving or retired Army personnel and war widows — general NEET UG applicants outside this category are not eligible here.
