    How MBBS Admission Works

    MBBS admission is based on NEET UG rank, with counselling conducted by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB):

    • 85% Jharkhand State Quota — counselled by JCECEB, requiring Jharkhand domicile eligibility
    • 15% All India Quota (AIQ) — filled through MCC, open to candidates from any state
    • AIIMS Deoghar — admitted entirely through MCC's central counselling process

    Jharkhand's medical education landscape has historically been government-dominated, though the state has more recently added private and deemed institutions to expand its seat capacity for NEET aspirants.

    RIMS Ranchi is affiliated with Ranchi University and recognized by the NMC. Beyond MBBS, it offers postgraduate courses across 21 disciplines and super-speciality programs in select departments, supported by a large teaching hospital campus spread over 216 acres.

    Postgraduate (MD/MS) Admission

    NEET PG-qualified candidates can pursue MD/MS primarily at RIMS Ranchi, MGM Medical College Jamshedpur, and Shahid Nirmal Mahato Medical College Dhanbad, along with limited DNB seats at Sadar Hospital, Ranchi.
