About AGMC

AGMC is affiliated with Tripura University, recognized by the NMC, and offers MBBS along with postgraduate courses across roughly 20 disciplines. It has no Management or NRI quota seats — missing the cutoff here means looking at another college, not another quota within AGMC.

How Admission Works

MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BASLP admission is based on NEET UG rank, with counselling conducted exclusively by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Tripura:

85% Tripura State Quota — requires Tripura domicile eligibility, counselled by DME Tripura
15% All India Quota (AIQ) — filled through MCC, open to candidates from any state

A distinctive feature at Tripura Medical College (private): it offers an additional Open Management Quota (OPMQ) seat category, available specifically to All India candidates outside Tripura domicile, alongside its regular state quota seats — a naming and structure not commonly seen in other states.

A Unique PG Eligibility Rule

For postgraduate (MD/MS) counselling, Tripura allows two distinct eligible groups: permanent residents of Tripura who completed MBBS from Tripura or any other state, and ex-students who completed MBBS specifically from AGMC or Tripura Medical College, regardless of their own domicile — a notably inclusive rule for alumni of Tripura's own colleges.
