ReNEET 2026 Answer Key Challenge Window Is Open: 72 Hours, Rs. 200, One Shot
NTA opens ReNEET 2026 answer key challenge till June 28. Rs.200/question, refundable. Steps, dates, score calculator & rank predictor inside.
The ReNEET 2026 provisional answer key is out. But NTA did not just release the key and walk away. This time, in a move aimed at full transparency, the National Testing Agency launched the answer key challenge window simultaneously with the key itself β while OMR scanning is still happening in parallel. That means students do not have to wait. The clock is already running.
If you appeared for the NEET UG Re-Examination held on June 21, 2026, and believe any answer in the NEET 2026 official answer key is wrong, you have until June 28, 2026 at 11:50 PM to raise a challenge. Miss this window and no grievance will be entertained β not after the final key drops, not after results are declared.
This blog covers everything: what the challenge process involves, how to raise one correctly, what happens after you submit, and what you should be doing right now with your score while you wait for the ReNEET result date 2026.
Why NTA Released the Challenge Window Alongside the Provisional Key
This is new. In previous cycles, the OMR scanning had to finish before the challenge process could begin. This year, NTA separated the two processes deliberately. Expert review of challenges runs in parallel with OMR scanning so neither step holds the other back.
The goal stated by NTA is transparency and the earliest possible declaration of results. Every candidate gets a clear, open opportunity to review all four sets of the ReNEET 2026 question paper and flag anything they believe deserves a fresh look. Once the challenge window closes on June 28, subject matter experts will review all submissions. The final answer key will be released on the website before results are declared. After that, no challenge or grievance will be accepted under any circumstances.
What Is the ReNEET 2026 Provisional Answer Key
The ReNEET 2026 provisional answer key released by NTA on June 25, 2026 covers all four test booklet codes: Code 50, Code 60, Code 70, and Code 80. The full PDF is available at neet.nta.nic.in.
The NEET UG 2026 paper carried 180 questions across Physics (45), Chemistry (45), and Biology (90), for a total of 720 marks. Marking scheme: +4 for correct, -1 for incorrect, zero for unattempted.
Notable anomalies in this year's key that every student must account for:
Code 50 β Question 26 dropped. All candidates who attempt it get automatic +4.
Code 60 β Question 43 dropped. Question 36 has two correct answers (options 1 and 4 both accepted).
Code 70 β Question 40 dropped. Question 22 has two correct answers (options 3 and 4 both accepted).
Code 80 β Question 2 dropped. Question 5 has two correct answers (options 1 and 2 both accepted).
These directly affect your NEET score 2026 calculation. Make sure you use the correct booklet code when cross-referencing. Using the wrong code gives you a completely wrong score and misleads your NEET rank predictor 2026 inputs.
We covered the full key code-by-code with a detailed score calculator in our earlier blog on the ReNEET 2026 Official Provisional Answer Key. For coaching institute key comparisons from the night of June 21, check our ReNEET 2026 Unofficial Answer Key analysis.

How to Challenge the ReNEET 2026 Provisional Answer Key β Step by Step
This comes directly from NTA's official Annexure 1 instructions released with the public notice on June 25, 2026.
Step 1: Enter Your Series Code Visit neet.nta.nic.in and log in. Enter the Question Paper Series Code printed on the cover of the Test Booklet you took home from the exam centre on June 21, 2026. This is critical. You can challenge under your own Series Code only.
Step 2: Select the Questions You Want to Challenge Pick every question for which you believe the declared provisional answer is wrong. You can challenge multiple questions in one submission.
Step 3: Upload Supporting Evidence For each question you challenge, upload documentary evidence. NTA accepts references from standard textbooks with chapter and page citation, NCERT, and other reputable academic publications. Only authentic sources will be considered. Coaching institute materials alone are not sufficient.
Step 4: Review Your Challenges Go through every selected challenge carefully before proceeding. After final submission, no additions or modifications will be possible. This step cannot be undone.
Step 5: Pay the Challenge Fee The fee is Rs. 200 per question challenged. Payment is accepted via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking only. No challenge will be processed without payment. The good news: if your challenge is accepted by the expert panel, the Rs. 200 fee for that question is refunded in full.
Step 6: Final Confirmation and Submission By clicking Submit you confirm that the Series Code matches your Test Booklet from June 21. Submission is one-time and final.
Step 7: Save Your Acknowledgement After submission, save the acknowledgement and transaction details for your records.
Important: You do not need to raise the same challenge under multiple Series Codes. If your challenge is accepted, the correction applies uniformly to all candidates across all four sets.
What Happens After You Submit
Every challenge submitted within the window goes before a panel of subject matter experts. Expert review runs immediately and in parallel with OMR scanning. Neither process waits for the other.
If a challenge is found correct on merit, the provisional answer key for that question is revised. The revised answer applies to every candidate across all four booklet codes regardless of who raised the challenge or under which Series Code.
Individual decisions will not be communicated to candidates separately. The revised final NEET 2026 official answer key will be published on the website. That final key is then used to evaluate all scanned OMR responses and compute the ReNEET result 2026.
Once OMR scanning is complete, you will be given a separate opportunity to view your individual scanned OMR response sheet. That stage has not started yet.
Calculate Your Score Right Now β Do Not Wait
While the challenge window is open and OMR scanning is in progress, you do not need to sit idle. Use the provisional key to calculate your estimated NEET score 2026 today.

ReNEET 2026 Paper Analysis: Where Did Students Struggle
Physics β Rated the toughest section unanimously. Application-based questions, assertion-reason format, and heavy Class 11 weightage made it the most time-consuming. Students from Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra widely reported running short on time here.
Chemistry β Moderate difficulty. Heavily NCERT-aligned. Organic and Inorganic Chemistry dominated. Coordination Compounds and Electrochemistry carried significant weightage.
Biology β Easiest section and the highest-scoring opportunity. Direct NCERT questions. Candidates across General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories maximised marks here.
The harder Physics section means overall scores likely dipped compared to an easier paper. This matters for your NEET score vs rank 2026 β when total scores drop across the board, the same marks climb higher in rank than they would in an easier year.
What Comes After the Final Answer Key
Once the challenge window closes on June 28 and NTA publishes the final key, the ReNEET result date 2026 is expected around July 15, 2026. Your result scorecard will show subject-wise marks, total score out of 720, percentile, category rank, and your All India Rank.
That AIR then drives everything: NEET UG counselling 2026, MCC counselling 2026 for AIQ seats covering AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, AFMC, and central university colleges, and state counselling 2026 for the 85 percent state quota seats across every state.
